Cider & Solitude

May 19, 2015

Uff….a second night drinking…..you might think this is a regular occurance but is is much more than that…..it’s a TREAT!

In my 40’s I have realized how precious alone time is to my soul.

I have worked harder to search and find it than I have ever done in previous years.

Tonight after a busy work day, I packed up and headed to a tiny local pub.

Settled in a table in the corner, I ordered a Stella cider and naan with olive oil, and observed the crowd.

There was rugby on the TV so some yuppy 30ish young men were cheering and drinking with every score.

At a table next to me was a clearly a blind date meeting each other for the first time.  I listened to their awkwardness as he rambled on about his job and she tried to look interesed….poor girl….yawn!

There is rowdiness at the bar from a row of singles that are guffawing loudly with a continuous flow of alcohol.

I LOVE people watching!

The end to this day is welcomed and treasured.
